Rachel Constantine

Rachel Constantine is a classically trained oil painter who works in the Academic Realist tradition with a strong infusion of Impressionism. She is the recipient of numerous awards from prominent institutions and organizations including the Portrait Society of America, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Woodmere Art Museum, the American Artists Professional League and the Allied Artists of America.  Her work has been exhibited in the Philadelphia Museum of Art,  the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Museum, Philadelphia City Hall, the National Arts Club in New York City, and the Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill, PA.  Three of her paintings were featured in Alla Prima: A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Direct Painting,written by Al Gury and published in 2009 by Watson-Guptil, NY.  Her work is in the permanent collection of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and she exhibits regularly in galleries across the country. Currently, her work is included in the museum exhibition ‘Women Painting Women: In Earnest’ on display at the Customs House Museum in Clarksville, Tennessee, and traveling to Texas A&M University Museum in October. Constantine holds a certificate in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and lives and works in Center City Philadelphia.
